David Warner Confirms His Return for PSL 10

In a major boost for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and its disrupted Season 10, Australian opener David Warner has confirmed his availability for the remaining matches of the tournament.

The confirmation from Warner—one of the biggest names in world cricket—comes at a crucial time for the league, which was suspended following escalating security concerns during the recent Pakistan-India military standoff. While matches were halted mid-season and overseas players were flown out for safety, the PCB has since been working behind the scenes to ensure a secure and structured return of the competition.

Warner, who was playing his debut PSL season, had shown glimpses of his class with the bat. His willingness to return, despite the recent instability in the region, is being seen by league officials as a strong signal of confidence in the PCB’s revised security plans.

David Warner is also leading Karachi Kings in PSL 10, and his return will boost his franchise’s confidence as it fights for a qualifier spot heading into the playoffs.

The left-hander isn’t the only Aussie returning for PSL 10. Fellow Australian batter Ben McDermott is also preparing to rejoin Karachi Kings. McDermott was among the foreign cricketers who departed early during the unrest, but sources close to the player have confirmed that he is now comfortable with the new arrangements and keen to finish the season.

Meanwhile, the PCB is expected to finalize May 17 as the resumption date for PSL 10. The remaining matches are likely to be held under strict security protocols, with Rawalpindi and Karachi as the likeliest host cities.

The resumption on May 17 will include the remaining four group-stage matches, followed by playoffs and the final. Teams will reconvene later this week, and foreign players are expected to start arriving shortly after.

While political tensions between Pakistan and India remain sensitive, the PCB has maintained its stance that cricket must continue to offer hope and unity amid uncertainty.

With Warner and McDermott on board, and more overseas players likely to follow suit, PSL 10 now looks set to make a spirited return—an act of resilience for cricket in Pakistan during one of the most politically charged months in recent history.
