The much-anticipated T20I series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is on track to be played later this month, with both boards in active discussions around finalizing the details.
According to insiders, the series will go ahead but with a revised schedule. Originally slated to start on May 25, it has been pushed to May 27 due to the delayed conclusion of this year’s PSL. The Pakistan-Bangladesh T20I series is now expected to be played between May 27 and June 5, pending final confirmation.
The upcoming series was in danger in the aftermath of the Pakistan-India conflict; however, with the situation steadily improving and the PCB working closely with relevant authorities, discussions between the two boards have gained momentum.
Bangladesh’s white-ball captain Liton Das recently stated that the final call rests with the boards and that the players are ready to travel if the BCB deems the security situation favourable.
For Pakistan, the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh holds monumental value. Not only will it mark a new era under Mike Hesson, but it will also mark the national team’s return to international action after a turbulent few weeks that saw the PSL paused midway. A successful hosting of these matches will send a clear message to the rest of the world that Pakistan remains a safe haven for cricket.
The venues and final match timings are expected to be announced after the formal agreement is signed by both boards.
