Toyota has refreshed the Corolla Cross for 2026, giving the compact SUV a much-needed style upgrade along with a new GR Sport trim that adds a dose of attitude. While the engine remains unchanged, updates to the exterior, interior, and suspension aim to deliver a sharper, sportier experience without sacrificing practicality.
The biggest news is the introduction of the GR Sport variant, which adds aesthetic and handling enhancements. Across the lineup, Toyota has updated the front with a new honeycomb grille and sleeker headlamps. Higher trims now feature a full-width LED light bar up front, while redesigned taillights at the rear include small aerodynamic fins — a touch Toyota claims improves stability. New 18-inch wheels are standard throughout the range, while the GR Sport gets exclusive 19-inch black alloys.
Inside, the cabin features a more modern layout with a redesigned center console and gear shifter. A 10-inch infotainment screen with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a 12.3-inch digital display, modernizes the dashboard.
Other updates include dual-zone climate control, a wireless charging pad, and leather and Alcantara seats with red stitching in the GR Sport trim. A black headliner adds to the sportier feel.
The powertrain remains unchanged. The 2026 Corolla Cross continues with its 2.0L flex-fuel engine, delivering 175 hp and paired with a CVT featuring 10 simulated gears. It does 0–60 mph in 9.8 seconds with a top speed of 121 mph.
However, Toyota has refined the driving dynamics. The suspension has been lowered, steering response improved, and paddle shifters added to make the drive feel more engaging. Drive modes for Sport and Snow enhance control across varying conditions.
The Corolla Cross continues to offer a comprehensive safety suite, including:
With a length of 175.6 inches, seating for five passengers, and a trunk capacity of 15.5 cubic feet, the 2026 Corolla Cross retains its compact and practical form. A 12.4-gallon fuel tank and curb weight of 3,131 lbs round out its utility specs.
