Punjab Approves Nearly 27,000 Posts in Education Department

The Punjab Finance Department has approved the creation of 26,898 posts across 1,961 upgraded and newly constructed public schools, replacing 43,960 abolished posts from previously outsourced schools under the School Education Department.

According to an official notification dated May 16, 2025, the decision is contingent on the condition that there will be no additional financial burden on the provincial government.

The posts will be filled by reallocating existing teaching and support staff from overstaffed to understaffed schools, based on the Student-Teacher Ratio (STR) and available personnel from closed outsourced institutions.

The notification clearly states that no fresh hiring of teachers or support staff will take place. Instead, staff will be rationalized within the existing workforce.

The newly approved positions are categorized as follows:

  • Newly Established Schools: 47 primary schools (423 posts), 1 elementary school (19 posts), and 5 high schools (135 posts).
  • School-Based Cadre (SBC): 1,181 schools from elementary to high level (14,172 posts).
  • ADP & SBC Upgrades: 375 primary-to-elementary (5,250 posts), 245 elementary-to-high (2,940 posts), and 107 high-to-higher secondary schools (3,959 posts).

  • Emphasis on education is very nice. Also look for ghost school. Check quality of education given in school. I understand that now there will be long ques in the offices of political ruling parties. People will seek jobs in education department without performing their duties.
We want to know what is going to be recruitment procedure and how quality education imparting to school children will be ensured.

    • Ap NY post prhy bgher reply kr dia hy. Koi new recruitment ni hny ja rhi, overstaffed school Sy understaffed school bhry jaen gy.

  • All lies …
    All lies
Many fake notifications circulate after every two to three weeks. Please don’t play games with youth minds

  • Number of seats should be increased by government, and recruiting process should be done in every year, and age relaxation also given to candidates that are a waiting these jobs from 7- 8 years and become over aged.Maximum Age should be 40 years for candidates!I request to CM Punjab very humbly, please mercy on all of us,we are seeing to yours acts of kindness!

  • No new hiring of teachers mean depriving of tens of thousands highly educated youth l force waiting for employment. Punjab Govt is spending billions of rupees for giving nominal financial support to families without creating new jobs. This irrational approach of Punjab Govt is creating beggars instead of giving jobs to educated youth.
