The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has announced new school timings across the province in response to a severe heatwave. The decision, aimed at protecting students’ health and well-being, was detailed in an official statement issued on Tuesday.
Effective immediately, all government and private schools will operate under the revised schedule. Schools will now open at 7:15 am. Primary schools will hold classes from 7:15 am to 11:40 am, while middle and high schools will continue until 12:15 pm.
The change comes as temperatures continue to rise across the region, raising concerns about student safety and classroom conditions. The Education Department stressed that the adjustment is intended to ensure students’ comfort and health during the ongoing heatwave.
School administrations have been urged to strictly follow the new timings and take necessary steps to maintain a safe learning environment. These revised hours are expected to remain in place until the start of the summer vacation.
