Qualcomm has officially announced the dates for its annual Snapdragon Summit, confirming that the highly anticipated Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset will be unveiled between September 23 and September 25. The announcement, made during the company’s Computex presentation, aligns with recent rumors suggesting an earlier-than-usual release window.
With the new SoC launching in late September, flagship smartphone manufacturers—especially Chinese brands—are expected to unveil their first Snapdragon 8 Elite 2-powered devices shortly afterward. This marks a shift from the typical October-November schedule, hinting that global rollouts could also take place earlier than in previous years.
The first few phones expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 3 include the upcoming Xiaomi 16 series, as well as some Motorola, Vivo, and others.
The revised timeline may present a challenge for Samsung, which is reportedly set to launch its next-generation foldable phones in early July. That would place the release of its premium devices just three months before Qualcomm’s new chipset becomes the industry standard for Android flagships. As a result, Samsung’s foldables may find themselves quickly outpaced in the specs race.
Qualcomm has yet to detail the technical specifications of the 8 Elite 2, but more information is expected to emerge ahead of the September summit.
