Lahore Qalandars Welcome Back Key Spinner Ahead of Crucial Eliminator

Just as the stakes reach their peak in the Pakistan Super League (PSL X), Lahore Qalandars have received a timely boost to their squad. The franchise announced the return of Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, who has rejoined the team after completing his national duties.

Rishad’s arrival was confirmed on the Qalandars’ official social media, where the team shared a photo of the spinner with the caption, “LOOK WHO’S BACK!! It’s Rishad Hossain — back in the squad ahead of the all-important Eliminator against Karachi Kings.”

The 21-year-old has made an immediate impact in his debut PSL season, claiming nine wickets in just five matches at an average of 16.44. His ability to deliver under pressure has been a highlight for Lahore, especially during the crucial middle overs.

Rishad’s return comes at a pivotal moment as Lahore Qalandars prepare to face arch-rivals Karachi Kings in the Eliminator on Thursday, May 22, at Gaddafi Stadium. The winner of this high-stakes clash will move on to face Islamabad United in Qualifier 2, with a spot in the final against Quetta Gladiators on the line.

The Qalandars’ squad now features a strong Bangladeshi presence, with all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz set to join as a replacement for Sikandar Raza, and veteran Shakib Al Hasan already in the lineup. Mehidy is expected to arrive in Lahore by Tuesday, after receiving clearance from the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

With Rishad Hossain back in the mix, Lahore Qalandars will be hoping for a strong performance as they look to keep their title hopes alive.
