Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed authorities to launch a strict crackdown against illegal constructions and unregistered housing societies in the capital.
The directive came during a high-level meeting chaired by the interior minister. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Interior Secretary, Islamabad Chief Commissioner, IG Police, and Deputy Commissioner were present at the session.
Addressing the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the use of satellite mapping to identify and halt all forms of unauthorized construction in Islamabad. He urged officials to strictly enforce a zero-tolerance policy in this regard.
Naqvi also stressed that delivering world-class services to residents of Islamabad must remain a top priority. “Ensuring the safety of citizens’ lives and property should not be compromised,” he said, adding that efforts must be made to improve the image of the police and administration in the federal capital.
The minister encouraged relevant departments to introduce new initiatives aimed at improving public convenience. In addition, Naqvi instructed officials to ensure effective control over the prices of essential commodities in the city.
