A colossal sacrificial bull named “JF-17 Thunder” has captured the spotlight in Hyderabad’s Liaquat Colony after being sold for a whopping Rs. 5 million at a local cattle market. The sale has drawn crowds and sparked widespread interest, with locals flocking to catch a glimpse of the animal named after Pakistan’s celebrated fighter jet.
The 40-mound bull, owned by livestock trader Shahrukh, became a sensation not just for its size and price, but for its patriotic name. The owner explained that he named the bull “JF-17 Thunder” in tribute to the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) iconic fighter jet, which recently gained national fame for its reported success against India’s Rafale jets. The name, he said, was chosen to symbolize strength, resilience, and national pride—qualities he believed his prized animal embodied.
The sale was marked by a festive procession, with the venue decorated and both parties exchanging garlands of currency notes and traditional Sindhi ajrak. The event quickly turned into a local attraction, with citizens from across Hyderabad visiting to take selfies with the bull and join in the celebrations.
While the spectacle has generated excitement, religious leaders have reminded the public that the true spirit of Eid-ul-Adha lies in piety and the intention behind the sacrifice, rather than the size or fame of the animal.
