The Islamabad Traffic Police on Monday announced a crackdown on traffic violations, introducing stricter fines and enforcement across the capital.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Zeeshan Haider said motorists involved in serious violations will now face heavier penalties and could even be taken into custody. He warned that vehicles driven without licenses or permits, including those operated by underage drivers, will be impounded and shifted to nearby police stations.
The new measures will also target lane violations, one-wheeling, and vehicle overloading, with fines being increased significantly. Haider emphasized that driving without a valid license will no longer be tolerated under any circumstances.
“We are taking strict and indiscriminate action against violators across Islamabad,” the CTO stated.
He further added that the force is also acting against illegal parking, urging the public to follow traffic rules for safer roads.
