Salman Ali Agha Credits Mike Hesson For Pakistan’s Improved Performances

Pakistan’s T20I team appears to finally be entering a new phase that aligns with modern standards, and the steward of that revolution, Salman Ali Agha, has credited his new head coach Mike Hesson for this change.

The Kiwi’s era as the head coach of the Pakistan cricket team has begun auspiciously with two comprehensive wins against Bangladesh in back-to-back games. Salman Ali Agha believes that Mike Hesson’s refreshing change to the Pakistan camp is responsible for this turnaround, as he praised the positive environment and unity developing under his guidance.

Speaking after Pakistan’s 57-run win in the second T20I, Salman expressed how much the players have appreciated Hesson’s early influence since taking charge of the national team setup.

“It’s been a few days and everyone is enjoying the environment,” Salman said. “Credit to Mike Hesson — everyone likes him and the atmosphere he’s created. We want to build an environment where players enjoy playing for Pakistan.”

Hesson, the former New Zealand head coach, was appointed Pakistan’s white-ball head coach by the Pakistan Cricket Board earlier this month as part of a wider restructuring ahead of the major ICC events coming up in the next few years. Though still young, Hesson’s experience and calm approach appear to have made an early impact.

The Pakistan team has often been criticized for inconsistency and off-field distractions. However, early signs suggest the players are responding positively to the new leadership. While we have to wait for more challenging tests to gauge this newfound belief, all signs point towards a successful stint for the team under Hesson’s leadership.

With a high-pressure tournament around the corner, Pakistan fans will be hoping that this new-look team under Hesson’s direction can turn potential into results.

For now, players like Salman Ali Agha believe the foundation is being laid, not just for short-term success, but for a healthier, more united team culture in the long run.
