Pakistan has seen a notable increase in its livestock population over the past year, with donkeys, buffaloes, sheep, and goats all registering significant growth, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The number of donkeys in Pakistan rose by 109,000 in the past year, bringing the total population from 5.938 million to 6.047 million.
Buffaloes also saw a considerable increase, with their population rising by 1.378 million. The total number of buffaloes now stands at 47.688 million, up from 46.310 million the previous year.
Sheep numbers grew by 388,000, pushing the total population from 32.731 million to 33.119 million.
Goats saw the largest rise among all livestock categories, with an increase of 2.358 million. Their total population has now reached 89.393 million, up from 87.035 million.
