Over 14,000 Injured While Slaughtering Animals on Eid’s First Day

Over 14,000 people were injured across Turkey on the first day of Eid ul Azha while attempting to slaughter sacrificial animals, according to the country’s Health Minister.

In a statement released on Friday, the minister confirmed that a total of 14,372 individuals were brought to hospitals nationwide due to injuries sustained during the sacrificial process.

Among the injured, 1,049 cases were reported in Ankara, 753 in Istanbul, and 655 in Konya.

The minister urged citizens to seek the help of professional butchers to avoid preventable injuries.

Last year, nearly 16,000 people were similarly injured during Eid celebrations.
