Following the directives of IG Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the city’s traffic enforcement campaign is actively underway. According to the traffic police report, 1,779 motorbikes and 1,532 cars have been impounded for violating traffic laws.
Violations include 469 cases of lane violations, 111 instances of driving without a license, 1,816 cases of illegal parking, and 775 drivers caught driving in the wrong direction.
The campaign also targeted motorbikes without number plates, with 1,051 violations, and 1,103 drivers were penalized for running red lights. Additionally, 1,302 motorcyclists were fined for not wearing helmets.
Captain (Retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider, CTO Islamabad, confirmed that a zero-tolerance policy is being enforced to ensure compliance with traffic laws. He added that traffic officers have been instructed to prevent anyone from driving without a license.
The CTO urged citizens to follow traffic rules and cooperate with officers to help maintain a safer and more organized traffic system in the city.
