The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has warned that no residential or commercial construction will be allowed in the federal capital without prior approval from the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon stated that both property owners and laborers involved in unauthorized construction will face legal action.
“Both the person who owns the property and those carrying out the work will be held accountable,” he said. Magistrates have been directed to take immediate action against violators.
The warning comes as part of efforts to control illegal and unsafe construction practices that disturb the city’s planning, damage drainage systems, and pose safety hazards. Unauthorized buildings, officials said, often bypass critical safety checks and zoning laws.
Businesses supplying construction materials without verifying the builder’s legal status will also be penalized.
The public is advised to obtain proper permits from the CDA before starting any construction activity. Details about the process and required documents are available through official CDA channels.
The ICT administration emphasized that recent crackdowns have already led to demolitions and FIRs. Officials reaffirmed their commitment to preserving Islamabad’s planned development and warned of strict enforcement moving forward.
