In a significant step towards digitization, the Punjab Transport Company (PTC) has begun issuing route permits online. These permits can now be obtained through the official Punjab Portal website.
According to details, applicants will also be able to access route permits via a dedicated mobile application, and permit fees can be paid through online channels.
The next phase of the paperless system is also nearing completion, which includes the introduction of online challan (fine) payments. Much like the traffic police system, PTC challans will soon be payable digitally, allowing users to pay fines instantly using the mobile app at the time of issuance.
Previously, fines were paid manually through National Bank branches, but the upcoming digital system aims to streamline the process and improve efficiency.
