Pakistan’s trade deficit rose by 9 percent from $24.104 billion in FY24 to hit $26.27 billion during the outgoing fiscal year i.e. FY25, according to data issued by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
Exports during FY25 stood at $32 billion, up 4.7 percent over exports of $30.67 billion recorded in FY24.
Imports surged 6.6 percent to reach $58.38 billion in FY25 compared to imports of $54.78 billion recorded in FY24.
For the month of June, exports were recorded at $2.54 billion, down 0.6 percent over the previous year and down 4.8 percent over the previous month.
Imports during the month were recorded at $4.86 billion, down 2 percent on a year-on-year basis and 7.1 percent on a month-on-month basis. While trade deficit during the month stood at $2.56 billion.
