Haripur and its surrounding regions were hit by heavy rainfall starting Tuesday night, resulting in the overflow of streams, flooding on major roads, and a significant rise in the water level at Tarbela Dam. In response, the district administration opened the dam’s spillways on Wednesday, according to a report by 24NewsHD TV.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued a warning, indicating the potential for a medium-level flood at the dam.
Authorities at Tarbela Dam have issued alerts to the deputy commissioners of Haripur, Nowshera, and Swabi districts to remain on standby.
