BRT Green Line and Peoples Bus Services Suspended

In view of security concerns during Muharram, public transport services in Karachi—including the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Green Line and the Peoples Bus Service—will be partially or fully suspended on key days.

According to officials, the BRT Green Line service will be completely suspended in Karachi on the 8th, 9th, and 10th of Muharram. The decision was made to avoid disruptions during religious processions and to ensure public safety.

The Peoples Bus Service will also be affected, with seven out of ten routes suspended on the 9th and 10th of Muharram, while five routes will face partial disruption on the 8th.

Authorities have urged commuters in Karachi to plan their travel in advance and cooperate with temporary adjustments in public transport schedules. Normal operations are expected to resume after Ashura.
