Islamabad Traffic Police Registers Over 100 FIRs in One Week Over Dangerous Driving

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) impounded 1,119 motorcycles and 412 vehicles while registering 112 FIRs during a week-long special enforcement campaign.

An official told APP that the campaign aims to curb dangerous driving habits, enforce traffic laws, and provide smooth and safe travel for citizens across the federal capital.

He said legal action was also taken against 845 motorists for lane violations, 76 for driving without a valid license, 11 for triple riding on motorcycles, and 23 underage drivers.

He said ITP teams registered 923 cases of wrong-way driving and issued 1,007 challans to bikers for not wearing helmets. Meanwhile, 2,766 drivers were penalized for illegal parking during the campaign.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider directed all officers to continue the campaign with full momentum and without any discrimination.

The CTO reiterated a zero-tolerance policy toward traffic rule violations and urged strict checking to ensure that no one drives without a license.

He also appealed to the public to cooperate with traffic officials and exhibit responsible behavior for safer roads in the capital.
