The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued draft of the electronic income tax return form for individuals and companies.
The form, somewhat ironically named “Simplified Electronic Return for Individuals,” is far from simple, stretching across a hefty 25 pages.
The FBR issued S.R.O. 1212 (I)/2025 and SRO.1213(I)/2025 on Tuesday. According to the notification, the new return form would be applicable for tax year 2025.
Through an S.R.O. 1212 (I)/2025, the FBR has also issued draft income tax return form for companies.
The SRO.1213(I)/2025 announces draft changes to the Income Tax Rules, 2002. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) plans to make these changes under the authority given by section 237 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.
This draft is published so that anyone affected can review it. If you have any objections or suggestions, you can send them to the FBR within seven days of the draft being published in the official Gazette.
Any feedback received within this time will be considered by the FBR before finalizing the changes.
