Punjab Restores Manual Land Record Certificates

Government of Punjab has withdrawn the suspension on the issuance of property ownership certificates (Fard/Record of Rights) and issued an official notification to restore the service.

According to the notification seen by ProPakistani, Fard will initially be issued only for areas where land records have not yet been digitized.

Buyers and sellers will no longer need to obtain or present a Green Property Certificate to complete property transactions. Land and other immovable property can once again be transferred using a Fard (Record of Rights) or a certified copy of the official land record.

The restriction had been imposed following the introduction of the Green Property Certificate initiative, which temporarily halted the issuance of traditional property ownership certificates.

With the latest decision, residents in eligible non-digitized areas will once again be able to obtain property ownership certificates through the prescribed process.

The Punjab government has formally notified the restoration of the service, while the Green Property Certificate system will continue to apply in areas covered under the new framework.
