Flash Floods Expected in These Popular Tourist Destinations

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather alert for tourists traveling to the northern areas.

PMD has issued a warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms from July 10 to July 14 in popular northern tourist destinations, including Murree, Swat, Hunza, Naran, Chitral, and Ziarat.

According to the PMD, the expected weather may trigger landslides and flash floods in these areas. Tourists and travelers are advised to exercise caution, as road disruptions and hazardous conditions may occur.

The PMD recommends checking the latest weather updates and road conditions before traveling to these regions.

The department’s advisory highlights the increased risk of landslides and flash floods due to ongoing and forecasted rainfall. Local authorities have also been asked to stay alert and take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of visitors and residents.

Travelers are urged to avoid unnecessary journeys during periods of heavy rain and to follow instructions from local authorities and emergency services.
