Pakistan is bracing for another round of intense monsoon weather from July 10 to 12, with heavy rain and thunderstorms expected in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab, Balochistan, and Kashmir.
Weather authorities have warned that these downpours could trigger flash floods and landslides, especially in northern and mountainous regions.
Urban flooding is likely in major cities such as Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and Lahore, where low-lying areas are at particular risk.
Recent monsoon rains have already caused significant damage, with at least 72 people killed and over 130 injured across the country in the past ten days, according to official reports. The risk of further casualties and property damage remains high as the wet spell continues.
In Balochistan and parts of northern Punjab, authorities are on alert for possible road closures and landslides. Travelers are advised to check the weather and road conditions before setting out, as heavy rain may disrupt transport and communication in affected areas.
Meanwhile, Gilgit-Baltistan is experiencing extreme heat, with temperatures in Chilas reaching 45°C. Residents are urged to take precautions against heat-related illnesses.
Citizens are advised to stay updated on weather alerts, avoid unnecessary travel to vulnerable areas, and follow safety instructions from local authorities.
