Questions have been raised over the continued use of outdated manual auctions at Lahore’s bus terminals in the digital age. Responding to concerns over transparency and modernization, the Punjab government has now decided to conduct all future bidding for Lahore’s bus terminals through e-tendering.
According to sources, the Lahore administrator has approved the Punjab Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) to conduct electronic auctions. The decision follows reports that four major terminals had undergone illegal manual auctions. These terminals include Badami Bagh, Sikandaria, Jinnah Terminal Thokar, and Raiwind.
The auctions for these terminals have been halted and will now be conducted through a transparent e-tendering process.
District administration sources reveal that the Punjab government has set a target of PKR 1.15 billion for terminal auctions in the 2025–26 fiscal year. A total of 48 contracts will be auctioned through e-tendering.
