Rain Predicted for Karachi in Next Few Days

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released a three-day weather advisory for Karachi, forecasting light rainfall during nighttime and early morning hours.

According to the PMD’s Warning Centre, skies will stay mostly overcast, with daytime temperatures expected to hover between 33°C and 35°C. Morning humidity levels may reach up to 80%, dropping to around 65% by the evening. Steady sea breezes are also expected to persist along the coastal belt over the coming days.

As monsoon currents gradually shift to other areas of Sindh, light rain or drizzles are likely in districts such as Khairpur, Umerkot, Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, and Jamshoro.

Elsewhere in the country, heavy rainfall is continuing across northern and central regions. Islamabad received 184mm of rain in the last 24 hours, while Narowal and Muzaffarabad each recorded 62mm. Kotli reported 57mm, followed by Rawalpindi with 54mm and Murree with 42mm, indicating the erratic yet intense pattern of this year’s monsoon season.

In light of ongoing weather activity, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a landslide warning for the northern mountainous regions.

Rain is anticipated across Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, including Gilgit, Skardu, Hunza, Astore, Diamer, Ghanche, Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Haveli, Bagh, and Poonch. Additionally, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts, such as Chitral, Dir, and Kohistan, are bracing for heavy and widespread rainfall.

Authorities have advised residents and local administrations to stay alert due to the increased risk of landslides, mudslides, rockfalls, and ground erosion. People are strongly discouraged from traveling through high-risk or unstable terrains during this period.
