The results of the NED University entrance exam have revealed a striking trend: while Cambridge International students achieved an impressive 89% pass rate, a large number of high-achieving students from Sindh’s local boards, including those with A1 grades, were unable to clear the test. NED University is recognized as Sindh’s second-largest engineering institution.
Federal Board students followed with a 78.5% success rate, and Karachi Board candidates secured third place with a 76.69% pass rate. In contrast, students from interior Sindh boards—despite many holding top grades—struggled, with most failing to meet the 50% passing threshold.
In the first phase of the entrance exam, 9,388 students appeared, with 6,398 passing and 2,990 failing, resulting in an overall pass rate of 68.1%.
A closer look at the statistics shows that out of 764 Hyderabad Board candidates, 406 did not pass, marking a 53.3% failure rate. Larkana Board saw 322 participants, with 219 failing (68.1% failure rate). Mirpur Khas had 522 candidates, 308 of whom failed (59.1% failure rate).
From Nawabshah, 261 students took the test and 144 failed (55.2% failure rate). Sukkur Board had 266 participants, with 176 failing (66.2% failure rate).
In comparison, Karachi Board students performed much better: out of 5,951 candidates, 4,564 passed and 1,387 failed, resulting in a failure rate of just 23.4%. The Federal Board had 257 students, with 202 passing and 55 failing. Cambridge International students excelled, with 455 out of 483 passing and only 28 failing.
These results highlight a significant performance gap between students from different educational backgrounds in the province.

Jhoot . It’s bcz their syllabus was sub par . They suddenly had to learn Cambridge level testing that’s opposite to pakistan education.
Is not student fault. It’s the fault of pakistan education board
Shahzade ya sindh ha, where sharab become honey over night you need to jalin with the system, culture looto and puto and you are beneficial
No , NED entry test follows Sindh board curriculum.
It is well known why do they fail , because they get unfair advantage , full cheating easy preliminary papers and paper leak a night before exam.
Interior sindh Boards doesn’t impose strictness as in Karachi board.
Further there are amongst them some bright minds as well who actually earns their spot.
But if the Quota system in NED ends then there would be hardly any students from interior, only those who actually study
As’salamo Ala’ikum it’s because the so called “waderaz” (coz otherwise they are “ghatyaz”) don’t want interior Sindh population to be…educated…so they designed…a neat plan n say look… it’s your fault… you couldn’t qualify…so continue to be our slaves
And unfortunately all failure from interior Sindh will get Government jobs in Sindh government very soon and others who will pass engineering will leave the country for the jobs, that’s the system of particularly Sindh.
No problem those who failed they can get good positions in government sector. AC / DC/ INPECTORS/ MANAGERS with more money and good pesion after retirement, free car, free Electricity, free Umrah all paid and those who only can some kind of signature or even Thumb impression they can become Politicians and can rule all and forever.
