In a decisive move to curb illegal development activities, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) enforcement squad has sealed the marketing office of the illegal housing scheme Capital Smart City Phase-III, along with an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of a private bank located within the premises.
The action was carried out under the direction of the Director General RDA, Kinza Murtaza, targeting violations of approved Layout Plans (LOP) and unauthorized construction.
According to an RDA spokesperson, the sponsor of Capital Smart City Phase-III was involved in the illegal booking of plots located at Airport Avenue, Rawalpindi.
The development proceeded without obtaining the mandatory No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from RDA and was engaged in unauthorized advertisement and illegal construction activities, in clear contravention of the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2021.
Despite prior notice, the sponsor failed to comply with RDA directives, prompting enforcement action.
The sealing operation was conducted by Assistant Director Planning Ali Raza, Inspectors Muhammad Tariq, Imran Hussain, in coordination with the Chontra Police Station.
