The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has decided to replace electricity meters damaged during the monsoon season, allocating a budget of Rs3.52 billion for the initiative.
According to company officials, the LESCO Board of Directors has approved the budget, which will cover the replacement of single-phase, three-phase, and LT TOU meters.
As per NEPRA regulations, LESCO is obligated to replace faulty meters for consumers free of cost. The utility is required to install a defective code and ensure meter replacement within two billing cycles.
In the event of a malfunctioning meter, LESCO issues an average bill to the consumer, calculated either on the basis of the last 11 months’ average consumption or the same month’s usage from the previous year.
