Federal Cabinet to Approve National AI Policy

The federal cabinet is set to approve Pakistan’s first National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy, developed by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication. The policy outlines a comprehensive roadmap to harness the potential of AI and allied technologies for national development, with a focus on skill-building, innovation, and inclusive growth.

The Ministry of IT has set an ambitious target to train one million people in AI over the next three years. According to the policy draft, 10,000 trainers will be developed to support this initiative. The policy also proposes launching mass awareness programs across the country to promote AI adoption and understanding.

A key component of the policy includes establishing a separate fund for scholarships in AI. The draft suggests offering 3,000 scholarships annually in AI fields by 2028, along with the issuance of 200,000 certifications each year to boost employability and professional recognition in this sector.

To support startups and innovation, the policy proposes the disbursement of 15,000 interest-free loans. A National Artificial Intelligence Fund will also be created to finance research, development, and deployment of AI and allied technologies. Furthermore, the policy recommends establishing Centers of Excellence in AI and emerging tech domains to drive innovation and local solutions.

For effective implementation, the policy envisions forming specialized working groups and an implementation cell. These bodies will ensure timely execution of key initiatives and alignment with global AI trends.

  • If you have ai you don’t need , in principle at all of any employees , if you have employees , you don’t need ai .

This is another waste of public funding

  • What skill building ? Ai engineering requires creating your own ai which we can’t . We can only host ai by linking with chatgpt.
So chatgpt is the innovation not ours.

We don’t make ai Chips as that’s taiwan tech
We don’t make ai chip software since that’s a strategic american tech
We don’t make ai computing since that’s created in Korea
We don’t have any plans to create tools for ai since that requires native ai infrastructure which we can’t afford . It requires over 500 billion $ in investment only to create the supply Chains.

    What ai policy ?
