Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi laid the foundation stone on Thursday for the construction of Ratta Road, a much-anticipated development project in the city.
The National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) will supervise the project, while the Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation will handle implementation. The project includes road construction as well as drain rehabilitation, with completion expected in approximately one and a half months.
Local residents and business owners expressed their support for the initiative, noting that improved infrastructure had been a long-standing demand of the community.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Abbasi emphasized the government’s responsibility to serve the public. “We are committed to improving roads and streets across the city,” he said, adding that progress depends on continued cooperation from citizens.
“These development projects are part of our mission to serve the people. The PML-N believes in practical action, not just promises,” he remarked.
