The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has come under pressure to accelerate stalled development projects in several sectors of Islamabad, particularly E-12, where allottees have been waiting for possession of their plots for over three decades.
During a high-level meeting on Friday, CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed the engineering wing to expedite development work in key sectors, including C-14 and I-12, with a two-month completion timeline.
He also instructed officials to float tenders for sub-sector E-12/4 and begin work wherever possession is available. The chairman tasked the Deputy Commissioner with securing land possession in E-12/4 by resolving disputes with locals. Partial development has taken place in E-12 since its launch in 1989, but most allottees still lack access to their plots.
“This month, we are planning to issue allotment letters for plots where development is complete,” said a CDA official.
The meeting also reviewed progress in Sectors C-15, C-16, and I-12. It was reported that 70% of road, drainage, and sewerage work in I-12 is complete. Issues with contractors in C-15 have reportedly been resolved.
The chairman emphasized quality standards and directed the establishment of camp offices in developing sectors to address public complaints promptly and fairly.

CDA performance is very very poor in development of sectors it should be handed over to private land developers and CDA should assume role of supervision only.

Pathetic performance of CDA as a civic body all over. even if possession was available quality of town planning and engineering tasks like roads, drainage, water supply is done so badly that these systems do not perform from the very start. All civic functions need to be privatized under a competent authority.
CDA is one of the worst and corrupt departments in Pakistan.
Lets not comment negatively on officials who are trying to do something positive. At least they are trying and with public backing they will get motivated. So we’ll done Chairman CDA and keep it up. Let E 12 be your major goal post. Thereafter F 12 & so on. May Allah help you and guide you in your endeavours.
