40 Railway Stations to Get Free Wi-Fi

The federal government has announced plans to equip 40 railway stations across Punjab with free Wi-Fi, as part of efforts to modernize Pakistan Railways and improve public services.

Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi revealed the initiative during an interview with a private news channel.  He added that the government is planning to invest Rs350 billion into Pakistan Railways to upgrade eight key branch routes across the province.

The free Wi-Fi service is expected to improve passenger experience, especially for those traveling long distances or waiting at stations. Discussions are also ongoing with the Sindh government for similar collaboration to upgrade rail routes in that province.
