Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz presided over the 28th meeting of the provincial cabinet, during which a 130-point agenda was approved.
During the session, the cabinet sanctioned the allocation of 1,220 residential flats for industrial workers in Labour Complexes at Sundar, Kasur, and Taxila. These units will be distributed through a transparent balloting process.
Rejecting the proposal to recover costs from workers, the chief minister instructed authorities to take immediate steps to construct an additional 3,000 flats to accommodate more industrial laborers.
The cabinet also approved setting the minimum wage at Rs40,000 for skilled, semi-skilled, and other workers across 102 employment categories.
Recognizing the dedication of Rescue 1122 teams during recent flood emergencies, Maryam Nawaz announced a cash reward of Rs50,000 for each official who served in flood operations and commended their timely relief efforts.
