Retired PECTA Workers Still Waiting for Pensions After 9 Months

The Punjab Education Curriculum and Textbook Authority (PECTA) is facing ongoing financial difficulties, leaving six retired staff members without their pensions and benefits for the past nine months.

Those affected include Subject Specialist Anwar Sajid, Laika Khanum, Superintendent Ishtiaq, office worker Nafeesul Hassan, and Grade IV employees Sakhawat and Mubeen Ahmed, all of whom retired between December and January.

The retired employees, who dedicated decades of service to PECTA, say they are now struggling in their later years due to the non-payment of their rightful dues. Some have expressed deep distress, warning that if their payments are not released soon, they may be driven to desperate measures.

In response, the group has staged protests outside the PECTA office, urging authorities to address their grievances and release their pending payments without further delay.

Meanwhile, PECTA officials maintain that there is no shortage of funds and have assured that the matter will be resolved in the near future.
