Islamabad International Airport will experience a series of temporary closures in August as part of preparations for the upcoming Independence Day festivities.
The Pakistan Airports Authority has issued a notification stating that both incoming and outgoing flights will be halted at specific times to accommodate parade rehearsals.
A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) details that no flights will operate between 8 pm and 10 pm on August 11, 12, and 13. Airlines have been directed to avoid scheduling flights during these evening hours.
Additionally, the NOTAM outlines further suspensions at various intervals from August 6 to 9 and again from August 11 to 14, including a notable pause from 11 am to 1 pm on certain days.
Travelers are urged to double-check their flight schedules before heading to the airport to prevent any last-minute surprises. Airlines have been told to adjust their timetables accordingly and keep passengers informed.
These flight suspensions are part of heightened security and logistical measures as Islamabad gears up to mark Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day with the usual fanfare and official celebrations.

I think Pakistan is the only country who is going to use international airport spaces for celebration shows.
