Thousands of school teachers across Punjab have reason to celebrate, as the Education Department is set to reopen the SIS portal for marriage-based transfers starting August 10.
Under the department’s updated policy, only the wedlock transfer option will be available, making it easier for teachers to apply for transfers related to marriage. Notably, this facility will be extended even if the spouse is not a government employee.
The restriction on marriage transfers, which had been in place for the past month and a half due to rationalization measures, is now being lifted.
The Education Department aims to provide teachers with year-round transfer opportunities, allowing them to move according to their needs. Teachers are advised to log in to the SIS portal and submit their marriage transfer requests promptly after August 10.
