Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently appointed six members to the National Rahmatul-lil-Aalameen Wa Khatamun Nabiyyin Authority (NRKNA) for the period of three years.
However, it has emerged that one of the appointees, Dr. Farukhanda Zia, had passed away a month and a half earlier.
According to a report by WE News, with the prime minister’s approval, the Ministry of Education issued a notification appointing six members, including Dr. Farukhanda Zia. However, she had passed away on June 22, 2025.
According to officials, the appointment summary was sent to the Prime Minister’s Office when she was still alive. However, the Chairman of NRKNA did not inform the ministry of her passing; otherwise, the summary could have been amended.
A new panel will now be sent to the Prime Minister’s Office to replace Dr. Farukhanda Zia.
