IT Ministry Unveils Six-Pillar Framework to Accelerate AI Adoption in Pakistan

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has outlined six key pillars under its Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy framework to drive adoption, innovation, and global competitiveness.

These pillars aim to strengthen the AI ecosystem in Pakistan by focusing on innovation, readiness, security, transformation, infrastructure, and international collaboration.

According to the AI Policy document available with ProPakistani, the first pillar, AI Innovation Ecosystem, will track the number of startups and SMEs leveraging AI technology, the growth of AI-based jobs, and industry adoption of AI solutions in sectors like smart cities, healthcare, and agriculture. Increased investments and funding in AI-related ventures will also be a core performance measure.

The second pillar, Awareness and Readiness, will emphasize the expansion of research and intellectual property in AI. Key indicators include the number of AI-focused research papers, patent applications, and funding allocated to research grants and initiatives. This will help ensure Pakistan’s talent pool is equipped to contribute to the rapidly evolving AI sector.

For the Secure AI Ecosystem, the third pillar, the focus will be on reducing cyber threats, implementing data standardization, and promoting ethical AI practices. Public awareness campaigns will encourage responsible AI use, while efforts will be made to digitize and synchronize existing infrastructure, such as WAPDA, NADRA, FBR, and the health and education sectors, to enable real-time data sharing.

The remaining pillars, Transformation and Evolution, AI Infrastructure, and International Partnerships and Collaborations, will focus on sector-specific AI adoption, national AI computing capacity, creation of AI hubs, availability of datasets, and development of local large language models. Global partnerships, joint research, and participation in international AI forums will be pursued to ensure Pakistan remains connected to global AI advancements.

  • Ah yes . More buzzwords with no real value

    Same old same old.

Ai infrastructure is just nvidia Chips and data centers . Which we don’t make

Transformation ? Into what ? How much does she even know about ai ?

Awareness and readiness is nothing but a cliche. Ai engineers just use ai to put out slop. Patents mean nothing if not meaningful. 90% of patents don’t result in anything.

Innovation ? You are using american chips with chinese systems containing the software chatgpt. Where is the innovation ?

Evolution ? Oh so now we believe in evolution ? Well it be added to the biology books ? No more denial of evolution from darwin.

International partnerships with whom ? That’s not a policy. That’s just how all business works.

Ai computing capacity means importing nvidia gpus.

    • Where is data security ?

Don’t they know that ai harvests data and send it to agencies and foreign actors

The field marshal location will end up in Chennai

    • Bro I never saw anyone ignorant like you bro you’re nothing just a yapper without any knowledge you think you use very good vocabulary makes you intelligent but in reality you’re if you want real explanation then I’ll make you cry

      • Noticed you didn’t prove me wrong. Funny for an “arrogant” self you didn’t list a single aspect where I was, in any form manner , inaccurate or wrong.

Would you kindly list where am I wrong ?

        All eyes.

  • Today report by Cybersecurity dept of US submitted report showed AI models are creating delusions.

People are claiming things and ai models simply encourage it despite no proof (source WSJ).
