The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced the launch of a double-shift school system to make education more accessible for children in remote areas.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s spokesperson, Faraz Ahmad Mughal, said the second shift will operate in selected schools to ensure students from far-flung regions have better opportunities to study without the challenges of long commutes or limited classroom space.
To implement the program, more than 2,500 teachers will be recruited temporarily. This includes 1,804 primary and 639 secondary school teachers, all hired on contract. Applications may be submitted to local district education offices or through the education department’s official website.
Mughal noted that the provincial government has allocated a record budget for education and is working to provide essential facilities in schools. Teacher training and the adoption of modern teaching methods are also being prioritized to improve the overall quality of education.
The government is paying special attention to girls’ education by establishing new girls’ schools and launching scholarship schemes. According to the spokesperson, these steps are part of a broader effort to raise educational standards and ensure that every child has access to quality learning opportunities.
