The Punjab government will establish the Marka-i-Haq Monument, Park, and Museum to commemorate the “Battle of Truth,” Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced during a ceremony honoring veteran musicians at the Expo Centre on Thursday.
The event featured performances of national songs by Sahir Ali Bagga and other artists, along with the screening of a special musical film on the Battle of Truth and a documentary detailing the planned monument, museum, and park.
The ceremony was attended by ministers, diplomats from friendly nations, and senior military and civil officials. Maryam Nawaz mingled with the musicians, applauding their work and celebrating their contributions to the nation’s cultural heritage.
Earlier in the day, the chief minister, in her Independence Day message, emphasized the importance of passing on stories of the freedom struggle to future generations and underlined the need to protect national independence.
The planned monument, park, and museum aim to serve as both a tribute to national resilience and a reminder of the sacrifices made in defending the country’s sovereignty. They are expected to become significant cultural and educational landmarks in Punjab.
