The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has announced an increase in vehicle registration and transfer fees, which will take effect on September 1. Officials have advised vehicle owners to complete their registrations without delay to avoid paying higher charges.
According to the department, a new digital registration system is being introduced that will directly link every vehicle’s number plate to the owner’s computerized national identity card (CNIC).
Under this framework, sellers will be allowed to retain their existing registration numbers, while buyers of used vehicles will be issued new numbers by the Motor Registering Authority. Registration numbers not in use can be reserved for up to two years.
Officials confirmed that late applications for registration will carry additional fees. Specifically, a one-month delay in transferring ownership will result in mandatory extra charges.
The department urged citizens who have already sold their vehicles but whose buyers have not yet transferred ownership to report the matter immediately by calling helpline 1035. The registration can then be suspended to prevent potential misuse.

Govt taxing and then wondering why economy is still bad. Lol

This is the only way to generate revenue not to give any relief to people
Cost of every thing is going up day by day, but doors to jobs are shut for past 35 years in Pakistan. No governance in this over three decades period took notice of the plight of the joblessness and resultant deprivation. When a pro people governance will make its debut?
Good decision like international rules
