China Offers to Help Pakistan With Bullet Train Project

The General Manager of Guangzhou Metro Group (GMG), a state-owned Chinese transportation company, has said the company is ready to assist Pakistan in developing a bullet train project if the country seeks support.

Speaking to a local media outlet, the GM said Guangzhou Metro handled billions of passenger journeys in 2024, with millions using the service every week. He said safety and punctuality were the top priorities of the company, as millions depend on the metro daily.

The GM added that the system’s success was due to a skilled workforce of men and women with advanced technical expertise. This, he said, had helped Guangzhou Metro earn trust not only in China but also abroad.

He noted that GMG has already contributed technology and expertise to projects in Pakistan, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Hong Kong, and other regions. According to him, this reflects the global standards the company has set in metro planning, construction, and operations.

  • China is the most popular and strongrst friend of Pakistan. We the Pakistanis are very and very thankful to our best friends ❤️ of China

  • It’s not the train, or a so-called “bullet train” that matters so as to reduce speed. It is the very fact that the whole railway infrastructure of the country needs to be overhauled at bullet speed. With constant derailments and acts of terrorism which are constantly on the increase, it is about time that the government restructures the old British system of railways which is still in use. Like motorways that have been constructed, new railway systems need to be constructed at a very fast pace so that not only Pakistanis but tourists from abroad, may enjoy international travel standards in Pakistan.

  • Money? Who will pay for project? Even more important, who will repay the loan? You and I, the common people and our children? Control instead the bullet culture. Forget the bullet train.

    • Man you are crazy. Millions waits for hours. Learn to respect time. Ride your motorbike with 6/7 lasker. Train cut down on imported fuel, millions on shockobservers on motorcycle, cars, road repairs, tires, brakes, causes polulation n skin, lungs sickness. Where tires, brakes, fumes disappear?

      • I think the gentleman never went to Karachi by train, otherwise he should have never
        never talked like this.

  • What about the tracks and roads of Pakistan, which is the basic foundation and the means of transportation.

  • Entire infrastructure (rails, roads, bridges, drains, culverts, crossings, ROW, communications, monitoring) needs to be upgraded, specifically after heaviest rains, devastating floods, land slides, submersion / destruction of roads, bridges, embankments. Plus, revamp the entire baueracratic, governing, contracting systems, to benefit masses at the grass root level

  • People in Pakistan dont have basic necessities and they are building bullet train, while the country has no forex and huge debt, this is disastarous

    • Every country in the world is suffering form high debt and our debt is nothing compared to developed countries.Bullet Train and such projects are necessary for development

  • We need electric train with 175 km/Hr speed between all major cities instead of show piece like Metro Bus and Train projects.
Public can’t afford Bullet Train costs.

    • And you must be Lahori Nashukra… Ask from Karachi.. Or Even from KPK where there funds are going. Who stopped them not investing in the infrastructure. I was in Saudi Arabia they just launched public transport means Busses may be 1 year ago. A country who were having enough funds but funds was there but not the vision. So blaming the Govt for investing for the betterment of a common people is shameful. Orange line metro? Who is using it. ? China offered that train at extremely low Interest. Kick backs is the word used so heavly in the past without any bsolid ground. Its A Govt to Govt understanding, you mean Chinese are paying kick backs to someone, Bull Shit

    • Plus most of the funds of the whole country are also diverted into Punjab, especially northern side Lahore, Gujranwala Sialkot etc

  • How much has the commission associated with this project increased with soaring production costs.

  • Bus upnay railway kay nazam ko thek kar lo wo he bohat bari bat hai. Aey baray bullet train bananay walay. Ravi kay bed pay eska station banay ga aur jab floud aey ga to sara ka sara humara bullet train ka Station duba ho ga.

  • Can’t understand weeping children?
Such projects create economic activity and revenue generation to move on. Let is happen now and fast.

    • Every thing is Game Changer: except electricity, gas shortage, water scarcity, population explosion, corruption, pollution, floods, unemployment, inflation, encroachment, lack of health and hygiene, election fraud, extension, buy n sale MNA, MPA, Mayors, Pk judiciary at 126 world Index. *Peechay Mullah, aagay Haji, Bus baji baji*

  • It can’t be beneficial in the long run. High cost of maintenance and lack of resources to fund such a project.

  • I think first we should bring the same justice system like China is having. Where ministers are hang in public in corruption charges.

  • This country is full disputes and national hatreds. Punjabi Generals are killing Pakhtoons ,Balochs and this thing is not going to stop. This is not Pakistan but a Punjabi state and Punjab is ruling this state on fascist methods. Punjab is exploiting other nations, suppressing them and looting their resources. Suppressing their culture, their languages and traditions. China want Taiwan and already taken Hong Kong but for Pakhtoons and Balochs shoulda accept Punjabi way of life and dictate. Let the world should stop these double standards. I know that the big powers are giving their reasons and justifications which suits them. But in reality these are double standards. The way Hong Kong was taken by British Empire from China , the same principle and way was used to seperate Pakhtoons from Afghanistan and Balochistan was a separate state.

  • If it comes free or as charity, Pakistan will accept it. But without kickbacks, no projects move forward.

  • Why not but best is to invest to Rais Older track more 2 meters above the ground. Then move to other thinking.

  • Government getting crazy over, Expensive Bullet Train, and LHR Roads projects, First to make Dams and upgrade existing railways,

  • High speed Bullet trains (600+ km/hr.) are the need of the day and they should be introduced across Pakistan directly involving China management supervision. Chances of major corruption will be less under direct China supervision. Even the operation and maintenance should be handled by China. In this way China will be in position to get their all investment back without involving Pakistani management which is extremely corrupt at its peak. It will be a win win situation for China and Pakistan without Pakistan investment.

  • Money? Who will pay for project? Even more important, who will repay the loan? You and I, the common people and our children? Control instead the bullet culture. Forget the bullet train

  • And you have projected this informal chit chat as if this is happening tomorrow.
    Theatricals.
No wonder why we are spiralling down the ditch. Media, fourth pillar of the state is now nothing but a childish narrator.

  • Lahore already has metro service along with orange line and green line.. plus it had recently introduced electric trams and electric buses within the city. A new motorway is being built from LHR to ISB to reduce the trip time by 1 hour.
In contrast Quetta to Karachi being the most busy and deadliest route is still a single lane road. After decades of talks finally the Govt agreed to extend it to a dual lane highway.. and guess what they still did not want to spend anything here and increased the petroleum levy for financing this project.

  • This is good news from our brother China for helping to our country .we appreciate these investments. Pak China Friendship Zindabad.
