The General Manager of Guangzhou Metro Group (GMG), a state-owned Chinese transportation company, has said the company is ready to assist Pakistan in developing a bullet train project if the country seeks support.
Speaking to a local media outlet, the GM said Guangzhou Metro handled billions of passenger journeys in 2024, with millions using the service every week. He said safety and punctuality were the top priorities of the company, as millions depend on the metro daily.
The GM added that the system’s success was due to a skilled workforce of men and women with advanced technical expertise. This, he said, had helped Guangzhou Metro earn trust not only in China but also abroad.
He noted that GMG has already contributed technology and expertise to projects in Pakistan, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Hong Kong, and other regions. According to him, this reflects the global standards the company has set in metro planning, construction, and operations.
