Punjab Excise Registers Most Expensive Vehicle in Its History

The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has set a new record by registering the most expensive vehicle in its history, a high-end SUV worth Rs. 176 million.

According to the news channel, which cited Excise Director Shahid Gilani, the registration fee alone amounted to Rs. 94.41 million, making it the highest ever collected by the department.

Previously, the record was held in 2023, when the authority registered the top variant of the latest Range Rover with a registration fee of Rs. 9.11 million. At that time, observers noted that the amount was equivalent to the price of a compact SUV in the local market.

This latest registration was completed by Gujranwala resident Ahmed Waqas, who also secured the distinctive number plate AWA-089 for his vehicle.

Officials have highlighted that the Motor Branch Lahore continues to lead in revenue collection, securing over Rs. 5 billion in the first two months of the current fiscal year.
