The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has revised the fee for demand notices of single-phase meters, raising it from the earlier rate of Rs. 13,786. The change was approved by the concerned authorities, according to 24News.
This adjustment comes shortly after a major policy shift introduced in June 2025 for commercial and industrial consumers.
Under that policy, the company announced that new connections and solar users would only require the installation of a single Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) smart meter.
The previous condition of placing an additional backup meter was withdrawn. LESCO officials said consumers may still opt for both billing and backup meters if they prefer, though it is no longer mandatory.
