Authorities in Sialkot have ordered the closure of 80 government schools until September 10 due to flooding.
Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali stated that several schools have been affected by floodwaters, with some premises still inundated. Following a directive from the School Education Department, the district administration has decided to keep the schools shut until conditions improve.
She added that in Tehsil Sialkot, many schools will remain closed from September 8 to 10, while educational activities have also been suspended in parts of Daska, Pasrur, and Sambrial.
Officials emphasized that the safety of children remains the top priority, as floodwater poses risks to school buildings and their surroundings.
