The Gilgit-Baltistan police have officially banned their officers and constables from using TikTok. According to a notification issued by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) office, the decision has been taken to maintain discipline, uniformity, and the dignity of the force. It states that no police officer or staff member is allowed to use TikTok under any circumstances.
The directive instructs all district police officers and unit heads to communicate the order to their subordinates and ensure strict compliance. It further warns that any violation will lead to serious departmental action.
This development comes after a similar incident in July, when two Islamabad police personnel were suspended for making and uploading TikTok videos in uniform, while dozens of others were directed to delete their accounts. Earlier in March, the Punjab police also issued a circular warning staff not to post inappropriate remarks against the government on social media platforms.
