Punjab to Introduce Mandatory Teaching License for Teachers

The Punjab School Education Department has reportedly finalized its decision to make a teaching license mandatory for teachers across the province.

According to City42 news channel, the license will be issued after a test and will be valid for five years. It will be categorized into three levels: Primary, Elementary, and Secondary. Future recruitments and promotions will be limited to teachers who hold this license.

The proposed test will include questions on school subjects, general knowledge, and IT skills. The department has not yet finalized the agency responsible for conducting the test.

The teaching license will be compulsory for teachers working in both the public and private sector schools. No teacher will be allowed to teach without it.

The final approval for the implementation of this licensing system will be given by the Chief Minister of Punjab.

  • Nothing except to make teachers fool…. Earlier they played drama in form of NTS now new term license is being introduced in education dept

    • Its better. Because some so called teachers just come to teach who don’t know anything. If teaching license becomes mandatory then we will be able to find out whose capable and who isn’t

  • Yes good idea 👍…it should be strictly implanted..if one driver is asked for license of motor vehicles then.teacher should also have licence…I was thinking 4 days ago about this…and if govt schools🏫🎒 are closed then fee subsidy should be given to students….but health facilities should not be stoped…it should be given total free…

  • Government always want more control and power. They enact laws to empower elites, giving them new avenues to mint money out of poor man pockets. This will give new way to bureaucracy to do corruption and loot teachers.
