Punjab to Introduce Mandatory Teaching License for Teachers

The Punjab School Education Department has reportedly finalized its decision to make a teaching license mandatory for teachers across the province.

According to City42 news channel, the license will be issued after a test and will be valid for five years. It will be categorized into three levels: Primary, Elementary, and Secondary. Future recruitments and promotions will be limited to teachers who hold this license.

The proposed test will include questions on school subjects, general knowledge, and IT skills. The department has not yet finalized the agency responsible for conducting the test.
